Adelante Chicago, Saturday Place is an education enhancement program for CPS students.
Saturday Place was awarded a grant for $2,500 by the Young Leaders Fund. This grant will be used to purchase books to begin a traveling library to ignite and continue to support our students’ love of reading.
For the months of March and April, Grand Foundation www.grandfound.org is supporting Saturday Place.
The Chicago Bulls have a strong history of giving back to the community by contributing time, materials, resources and financial support to organizations that share the team’s commitment to youth education, youth health and wellness, violence prevention, and military and first responder support.
Saturday Place is one of the recipients of the Chicago Bulls Charities 2020 Grant. Thank you for your support!

Our regular instruction continues every Saturday in small group sessions of no more than 7 students per teacher using Classkick as our platform to deliver differentiated lessons in reading and math.

Our Virtual Halloween Celebration: Students received a treat bag full of surprises which included candy and Halloween crafts. Students celebrated Halloween with a special virtual Spooktacular time. Photo gallery here.
Our Thanksgiving Celebration: Students participated in a moment of gratitude in celebration of Thanksgiving and took part in craft activities with the supplies they received in the gift bags they received for November. Photo gallery here.
The Virtual Science Fair 2020 – Students received a science kit to use at home. Teachers reviewed the science project with students during class and encouraged all students to complete their reports using ClassKick. ClassKick is a website that allows teachers and students to interact with text in real-time and provide feedback on assignments. Students recorded a 5-minute presentation to report on their favorite science activity they completed with the kit. Then students met as a whole group to share their findings.
